March snow is a rare occasion around here. Clover went out first thing this morning and measured with the tape measure. We got about four inches of snow! The kids were ready to go out before 8:30 this morning, but I insisted that we have breakfast and put on some layers first.
We spent about an hour sledding down the hill beside our house. Nova insisted on pushing me down over and over. He rode with me a few times, but mostly he just wanted to push me down the hill. Indigo was overjoyed that Tim was in the mood for a snowball fight. I'm never really in the mood to have people throw cold things at me, and that is why it is such fun to have Daddy home on a snow day.
We took a long walk through the woods behind our house when everyone was tired of sledding and snowball fighting and eating lots of snow. The kids were so excited to see that all of the rain, sleet, and snow had caused huge puddles to form all over the woods. And (best of all) the little stream at the very back of our property had become a bubbling, rushing stream with a waterfall! We stood on the bridge for a long time looking and listening. The sun came out and turned the woods into a glistening, beautiful, icy wonderland. We walked home and had hot cocoa by the fire.

Aren't snow days the BEST?!? Especially when the whole fam can enjoy it together!
Lovely pics!
Those woods look like such a beautiful place to walk.
