busy day!

Clover, Indigo, and Willow made bird houses in pottery class this morning. They are so excited that they will start with glazing next week. I love how this simple little class has sparked such an interest in pottery and clay and sculpting for them. They're having so much fun!

This afternoon we met our friends Allison and Felix for a nature hike at Andrew Jackson State Park. We had never been there before, so we were pleasantly surprised by the fact that there was a little museum there and some other interesting structures besides the wonderful nature trails. We briefly checked out the museum, and the boys were very impressed with all of the weapons...

The trail was beautiful with signs of Spring. Little green leaves were sprouting out on the trees, tiny beautiful flowers were popping up, and we even saw a bird's nest on the ground with some purple ribbon woven through it. There was a very deep ravine, and the kids had a great time scrambling up and down the sides.

After the hike, we checked out the old school house on the property and the kids played for a really long time on a huge structure with lots of stairs and a large stage. I can't wait to visit there again!

We got home late, and had a super delicious dinner - onion bacon quiche and salad. Yum!
