playing and crafting
I had big plans for lesson time this morning. We were studying the highest elevation in our area - Crowders Mountain - and I had plans to drive there and hike around. However, it was only about 20 degrees outside when I woke up this morning. I'm a pretty hardy person, but cold weather is not easy for me to handle. So... no field trip. We read by the fire, made a huge pot of soup, and the kids played & played & played. Captain Hook ran in and out of my kitchen all day. I saw Peter Pan and Wendy a few times, too.
In the midst of all of the reading & playing, Clover managed to create this beautiful little dream catcher. She made it out of toothpicks and embroidery thread. It is the cutest little thing! I took about a million pictures of it, but in the name of restraint, I will only post a few.

Yeah. This wacky weather. I've had The Little Mermaid running through the house all week!
I remember those things! We always made them at camp. We called them god eyes.
That's what they are!!! They are god's eyes! I don't know why on Earth I typed dream catcher. I just noticed that!
